Frank Austin, PhD, DVM
Co-Founder, Secretary and Treasurer

Dr. Austin is a microbiologist with expertise in fungal diseases, in addition to being a veterinarian with experience in treating exotic diseases in animals. He has been on the faculty of Mississippi State University in the College of Veterinary Medicine for the past 24 years, the majority of which he served as the Director of Microbiology at the Diagnostic Laboratory in the College. Dr. Austin joined Sano in the Spring of 2022 as the Chief Scientific Officer. He manages the development of Sano's pipeline for its drug products, and is actively working toward establishing partnering opportunities.
